Technology that just ten years ago would have been considered cutting edge in the major corporate world has now filtered down to the point where any business that is willing to make a fairly small investment of time and money can create a competitive edge. Before too long this technology will be considered mainstream and all businesses will either need to employ modern technology or struggle in the face of more nimble competition – so why not start the process now and move ahead of the game.

“Applications” covers a very broad range. Every man and his dog is starting a software company. Programmers are getting cheaper and with the availability of offshore coders the breadth of technology being released is enormous. For New Zealand businesses our suggestion is that if you buy offshore you need to be very brave and be prepared to spend more time on implementation or operation. Our preference is to buy fully localised software onshore from recognised implementors and save yourself a lot of heartache.
